In 1977 Katherine Surridge received a BFA (painting) from the University of Victoria and completed a Master’s residency at the Santa Fe Art Institute. She has also studied Video at Emily Carr University of Art & Design. Her work has been exhibited throughout Canada and the United States and can be found in many corporate and public collections including the Canada Council Art Bank, BC Provincial Collection, Burnaby Art Gallery, Edmonton Art Gallery, and the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria, Nova Corporation and The Toronto Dominion Bank. In addition, her work has won numerous awards including a Canada Council grant and a scholarship from the Santa Fe Art Institute. Surridge is also a filmmaker whose productions have received significant acclaim. She now paints full time in Vancouver, BC.
